The Overkill mechanic is great and I really like the Schematics idea so I backed when there were about 30 of the free shipping pledges left.

Any idea when we'll see some/any of the updated tile art? I'm mildly underwhelmed by the sterility of the tile art but I couldn't care less if the game plays well. However, if you're indeed upgrading it then revealing it soon might mean more pledges from some of the undecideds.

Why is this game not more prominent in TOS? It doesn't have the KS widget. Is TOS news no longer covering kickstarters?

108K? It's 104K as I type with a couple of spaces vacant on the free shipping option. Looks like we have a few deserters...

I really like the retro "Rayguns + Mutants" kind of pulp art. Strike that - I adore it. What I don't get is why you don't care how it plays. Are you repurposing the miniatures?

He means: I couldn't care less about the tiles as long as the game plays well.

This is par for the course with Kickstarters. They always have a mid-life crisis. Buonocore has a marketing campaign announced for next week and there will be a push at the end. It'll heat back up again.

I'm fine with the tiles. I always picture space ships/stations as being rather plain looking inside. Although maybe if you put a nice rug down it'll really tie the alien ship together.

Rugs are a great way to visually separate big spaces into smaller ones, providing the appearance of more rooms. Spaceship designers should consider that.

The tiles look like golden age sci-fi space ships, which were clean and sterile looking. Plus, busy, overwrought game boards make distinguishing between important information on a board, and decorative elements difficult. And you have to remember that the tiles are going to be crowded with aliens and tokens and cards. And yes, I am the play tester that has repeatedly pushed for dialing back the illustrations on the board.

The tiles remind me most of Space Hulk 1st edition. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

There is still a good deal of talk and work going on around the tiles and how much/little to put in them in terms of "atmosphere". I probably shouldn't be doing this because nothing is "done" yet, but right now we are considering something that looks like this:

I assume the game comes with a little flask I can sip from as I mutter about how hard everything is to see :p

dial back the illustrations, I am with Uba. It should be sparse, clean, like the period it emulates. Dn't be like every other overwought board game already out there.

$200K stretch goal.

You have to admit, it makes for a cleaner, more unified appearance. Much warmer too.
